Prepares for:Design and Perform Cosmetic Tattoo (Micropigmentation) Procedures.
Geared towards:makeup artists, beauticians, nurses, hairdressers, body art tattooists, those with a health service background
Requirements:Preference for this course is given to those with prior qualification in Beauty Therapy, Make-up Technician, Nurse, Doctor or other area with relevant training in anatomy, physiology and biology of the skin and face and those with experience in client/patient treatments. However the course is designed to provide comprehensive training even for those with limited prior experience and course content includes - Design a Treatment Plan (as it applies to Cosmetic Tattooing). The trainee must not have any impediment that would prevent instruction or their ability to carry out cosmetic tattooing on models over the course of the training. This would include any physical or mental impediment that may pose a risk to the trainee, the models, or any third party. If the trainee has any doubt please discuss the matter before the commencement of the course. Trainees with potential restrictions such as, an allergic reaction to latex rubber gloves need to disclose this prior to the commencement of the course to permit alternative arrangements to be made if possible. The trainee must have a steady hand, good vision and hand-eye coordination. The trainee understands that Cosmetic Tattooing involves the use of an electric device to insert needles into the skin and that in some cases they may be exposed to blood, saliva and tear fluid from their clients, therefore standard precautions must be taken. Trainees are expected to be clean and neat, and have their hair tied, pinned or netted back when performing cosmetic tattooing. Trainees are also expected to wear an appropriate protective apron or jacket and other mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE). A professional manner must be adhered too at all times during the training.

Course program

The purpose of Module 1 is to provide Aestheticians already working in the field of Beauty Therapy or those considering a career in Cosmetic Tattooing;

• An introduction to Cosmetic Tattooing.

• The theory of Cosmetic Tattooing prior to commencing the practical training.

• Self directed equipment practice prior to commencing the practical training.

• The knowledge required to provide general information to clients who may be considering Cosmetic Tattooing.

Upon successful completion of Module 1 students are provided a certificate of attainment & then they may if they chose enrol in module 2 to commence practical training towards their Diploma in Cosmetic Tattooing.
